Dr. Michael Bollenbacher
Optometrist
Dr. Bollenbacher received his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Bollenbacher has extensive experience in refractive surgery, and is the lead refractive surgery consultant for Insight Lasik in Boulder, CO . Since 1996, he has provided surgical comanagement for patients requiring cataract, glaucoma, and retinal surgeries. He is the Team Optometrist for the University of Colorado Athletic Department. His other areas of professional interest include dry eye treatment and advanced contact lens fitting.
He has been an Adjunct Clinical Professor for the University of Pikeville Kentucky College of Optometry and for the University of Houston College of Optometry. He is an active member of the Colorado Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and is Board Certified by the American Board of Optometry.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bollenbacher averages nearly 50 hours per year continuing medical education each year to stay current in his profession. When not in the office, he enjoys trying to keep up with his wife and 5 kids while skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking and hiking.
Dr. Nicole Ramos
Optometrist
Dr. Ramos was raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and completed her Bachelor’s in Biology at Augustana College. She received her doctorate at the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO). For several years at ICO, she was head fundraising chair for SVOSH (Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) and she is currently working with non-profit organizations to bring similar optometric services to her family’s native country of the Philippines.
After graduating from ICO in 2018, she moved to Denver to complete her residency in Refractive/Ocular Surgery & Ocular Disease at ICON Surgical Eye Care. Dr. Ramos has also completed rotations at the Daytona Beach VA Medical Center, East Valley Eye Center in Los Angeles, and Insight Vision Group in Denver. She is passionate about quality eye care and values effective patient-doctor communication. She specializes in ocular surgery and ocular disease management including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and post/pre-op ocular surgery management. She is an active member of the Colorado Optometric Association and American Optometric Association.
In her free time, Dr. Ramos enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family, friends, and cockapoo puppy.
